Product information "HASS - Macht kaputt, was längst kaputt ist 12" LP - RED"

Whether it’s politics, society, capitalism, religion, media, digitalization - HASS hate many things but nothing without a reason. "Hass allein genügt nicht mehr", proclaimed the debut album of the four-piece band from Marl and Recklinghausen in Nordrhein-Westfalen in 1981. As one of the first german punk bands of West-Germany, they set the bar for future generations. The past decades of the band's history show that they never run out of subjects to write critical lyrics about.

The conditions of modern times claim the necessity of the new album "Macht kaputt, was längst kaputt ist". If you ask yourself the question of good and evil, like the album opener, then HASS still - or more than ever - hit the nerve of the time. In a snotty manner they deal with all the topics of whose side is supposedly greener until no last man of the bourgeois middle class is standing, instead of lingering in stagnation.

The imperative of the album title turns against societys dripping sullenness and at the same time it appeals to reason to learn from past mistakes. HASS also deliver a contemporary update of the TON STEINE SCHERBEN classic "Mach kaputt, was euch kaputt macht ". The album cover, which illustrates exactly this political participation, is in fact an illustration by none other than Eric Drooker, like numerous other covers of e.g. ...BUT ALIVE and FAITH NO MORE, and quotes the political agitation of the expressionist woodcuts of the 1930s.

Where "Menschenhassen", "Abendland verrecke" and "Damals" still point their finger anonymously at those who glorify past times, "Zum Scheißen zu doof" turns directly against the german right-winged party AfD. Marv Mandela supports the vocal part of the song, who is going to replace the current singer Thomas Sohns after the release of the album.

After almost 40 years of band history, HASS make their mark in German Punkrock once again. „No future“ is long gone, and that's exactly the reason why in 2020 the demand of the album title is still relevant: „Macht kaputt, was längst kaputt ist!“
